This particular document was produced by their interactive media lab, which would make it a very reliable source. It was used in our research to describe the many factors behind arranged marriages. Some of those which are reputation, wealth and religions. This article was very easy to access and had a webpage setup that made it easy to access and understand all of the information. This article It fit into our research because we our in charge of explaining the patterns of life in Indian society, and arranged marriage is definitely a common occurrence in Indian culture. This text really helped me understand arranged marriages to a deeper level. With arranged marriage still being relevant today hopefully the students will understand the “why”behind arranged marriages.
This video from PBS offers great insight on basic knowledge of India. PBS is a very reliable resource and this video includes no bias at all. In the video, the show tremendous video footage of indian villages. It does an outstanding job of giving watchers a general overview of the history of India and how they became the powerful nation they are today. Additionally, this video is very fun to watch because it gives you a sense of what life in India is like. It was imperative to our research because we have no information on basic Indian history. This video will be very helpful to the class because it will give them a basic understanding of Indian history. Hopefully from this, they will have a better understanding of Indian village life and history.
